Diseases of the mind usually have to do with the understanding and the memory factors, such as Alzheimer's and mental illness. As people age, sometimes their memory isn't what it used to be. But instead of resisting, they just give in as 'something that goes along with growing older'. Other times, the brain is not formed properly in the womb or has been injured, and this is the underlying cause of diseases that prevent people from functioning as God created them to function.

Doctors serve their purpose; however, the bible has a lot to say about the mind and the understanding. If you are taking medicine, mix faith with it by saying, "I believe I receive my healing, in Jesus' name." It takes time to renew your mind and develop faith in your words as well as God's word.

If you are dealing with this type of curse, meditate on the following scriptures. Pray them aloud. Again and again. Sow them into your heart, ask God for healing, believe that you receive and then act like you have! God is a good God; He will respond to His word.

• Isaiah 26:3 - You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, for he trusts in You
  
• 2 Timothy 1:7 - for God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind
  
• Psalm 71:1 - in You, O Lord, do I put my trust - let me never be put to confusion
  
• 2 Timothy 2:7 - consider what I say and the Lord give you understanding in all things
  
• Philippians 4:7 - and the peace of God which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus
  
• Job 32:8 - but there is a spirit in man and the inspiration of the Almighty gives them understanding
  
• Psalm 119:34b - give me understanding and I will keep Your law
  
• Psalm 119:140 - the entrance of Your word give light; it gives understanding to the simple
  
• Luke 24:45 - then He opened their understanding that they might understand the scriptures
  
• Ephesians 1:18 - the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of His calling and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints
  
• Colossians 1:9 - for this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding
  
• 1 Peter 2:24 - by His stripes you were healed
  
• Proverbs 10:7 - the memory of the just is blessed but the name of the wicked shall rot
  
• Psalm 107:20 - He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions

PRAYER

My Father, I come to you in the precious name of Jesus, Your son, Your word, who paid the price for my healing with His blood. Your word says to come to your throne boldly, with confidence, knowing that Your covenant provides for health and healing to every part of my body.

I want to thank You, my Father, for making this provision so that I do not have to suffer the curse of mental illness, memory loss, Alzheimer's or any other such illness because they are curses, and I have been redeemed from the curse according to Galatians 3:13. Therefore, I boldly bind the spirit of confusion and loose the spirit of a sound mind, in the mighty name of Jesus!

I thank You that it is the entrance of Your word that gives light and life to my mind and my brain. I thank You, Jesus, the eyes of my understanding ARE enlightened and that You have given me a spirit of a SOUND mind. I receive soundness in my mind, I receive understanding in my mind and I receive healing to my physical brain according to 1 Peter 2:24! And I thank You, Lord, that I function as You intended me to function, normally, even brilliantly, because Your word not only creates but it also re-creates. I give You all the glory and I will witness of Your mercy and goodness, In Jesus' name. Amen.

DECLARATIONS

• I have a sound mind! I refuse the spirit of confusion!
  
• I have understanding and knowledge and wisdom!
  
• The natural forces of my brain are not abated and I function better the older I get!
  
• My memory is blessed! I remember all things because the Holy Spirit brings all things to my remembrance!
  
• I have a healthy brain because God sent His word and healed me; He has delivered me from my destructions!
  
• I am at peace. The peace of God, His WHOLENESS, keeps my mind in the power of His word!
