Legal AssistanceThe following link is to the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program (HVLP) which has been providing legal services to Harris County's indigent and low-income residents by promoting pro bono work among the local bar since 1981. The HLVP screens and refers cases to volunteer attorneys in most areas of civil law including family matters, landlord/tenant, bankruptcy, consumer issues, estate planning and tax controversies. It sponsors a Legal Advice clinic on certain days of the month which provides an opportunity for brief advice from volunteer attorneys. You must call and qualify over the phone before an appointment is given to review your case. It is sometimes very hard to get through on their phone line but you MUST KEEP TRYING! Many of them are good Christian attorneys with excellent reputations and knowledge, and it will be worth your while to contact them. This link is to Scriptures which relate to legal matters. It is to your benefit to go to the Highest Court in the universe "first" in prayer before trying to solve your problems via the secular system. |
